NSP Scholarship 2024 is an online scholarship portal of the Government of India. Also known as the National Scholarship Portal, the NSP website carries information on different scholarship programmes undertaken by central ministries and many state governments. Every year, the NSP portal hosts over 100 scholarship schemes for students coming from different education levels and socio-economic backgrounds. 

NSP Scholarship – State Schemes

The NSP portal also lists the scholarships offered by different state governments under the ‘State Schemes’ section. These scholarships contain both centrally-sponsored and state-sponsored scholarships. While the centrally-sponsored scholarships are offered by the central government and implemented by different states/UTs, the state-sponsored schemes are both offered and implemented by the state government. The key states/UTs which host the scholarships on NSP include Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry, Tripura and Uttarakhand.

NSP Scholarship – Application Process

The application process for all the scholarships is simple, as there is a single application window for all the scholarships. To begin with the application process, the students are primarily required to register on the portal. Thereafter, they can proceed with the application form filling by logging into the user dashboard. Follow the steps given below to make a successful application – 

Step 1: Visit the official website of NSP (National Scholarship Portal).
Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Students‘ option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 3: Now, click on the ‘Login‘ button under the OTR option as it is required to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Step 4: Click on the ‘New user? Register yourself‘ on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
Step 5: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox, and click on the ‘Next‘ button.
Step 6: Enter a functional mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Fill in the required details and click on Save & Register to complete the ‘One-time registration (OTR)’ process. (Note:- This is a temporary registration number, students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to complete the OTR process.)
Step 8: After successful registration, navigate to the ‘Apply for Scholarship‘ option and click on the ‘Login‘ button.
Step 9: Select the scholarship, fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit.

Note:- All the applicants are advised to fill in the information correctly on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made. Additionally, submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.

NSP Scholarship – Documents Required

The documents required for each NSP scholarship may vary. However, some of the key documents that you must keep intact to make a successful application include –

  • Academic transcripts, including marksheets & transcripts
  • Aadhaar card
  • Bank passbook
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Income certificate (if applicable)
  • Bonafide certificate from school/institution (as applicable)

Step 1: Visit the official website of NSP.
