Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL)

CTUIL, which was founded on December 28, 2020, is currently a fully owned subsidiary of POWERGRID and is working to separate from the latter. In accordance with Section 38 of the Electricity Act of 2003, CTUIL is required to carry out its statutory duties as an independent utility, including carrying out the transmission of electricity through the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS), carrying out all related planning and coordination duties, and ensuring non-discriminatory open access to the system.

As a national utility, CTUIL will make significant investments in human resources, assisting in the expansion and overall development of India’s power sector. For CTUIL, POWERGRID is handling the hiring process.

Essential Qualification

i. Academic year 2022–23 final year or semester students who anticipate their results by August 14, 2023 may also be eligible if they meet the minimum percentage marks or equivalent cumulative grade point average (CGPA) requirements for the relevant category at the time of applying for the above post. Only if they meet all the required eligibility requirements will their candidature be considered for appointment in the event of selection.
ii. Without rounding off, the percentage of marks for the essential qualification will be taken into account.
iii. Refer to “GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS” section 7, which provides instructions on how to convert CGPA into a percentage.

Relaxations

1. Reservation, relaxation, or concession to OBC (NCL), EWS, SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-SM, or Riot Victims should be in accordance with directives of the Government of India.
2. To qualify for the benefit under the PwBD category, a person must have at least 40% of the relevant impairment. People who are requesting accommodations, relaxations, or reservations under the PwBD category must upload their disability certificate in the format requested by the Indian government.
3. For candidates who fall under the categories of SC, ST, PwBD, or Ex-SM, the qualifying marks for essential qualifications are relaxed to pass marks for those positions.

Selection Process

Application Scrutiny  Application scrutiny should be based on the Job Specification, Relaxation and Concession as indicated in the detailed advertisement and supporting papers published on the application portal. Hence, candidates are advised to be very careful while uploading the relevant documents. The final and legally binding judgement made by POWERGRID on the review of applications and shortlisting for the computer-based test.  
Written Test / Computer Based TestAdmission to the Written Test/ Computer Based Test will be on production of Admit Card. Candidates who are determined to be provisionally eligible based only on online data will be given access to the admit card in the Candidate Login, which will include their roll number, the name of the designated test centre, and instructions for the exam. To appear in the test, the candidate must download all necessary documents from the internet, including his or her admit card and the test guidelines. Please be aware that the admission card won’t be mailed.
Test DurationAccording to GOI directives, PwD/PwBD candidates are only given an additional two hours if they have trouble writing.

Candidates who meet the qualifications in the detailed advertisement and pass the written test or computer-based test will be invited to the computer skill test in the following ratios: 1:5 for positions up to 3, 15 for positions of 4, and 1:3 for positions of 5 or more. The number of applicants called for the computer skills test may vary depending on the pool of qualified applicants at the cut-off.
Document Verification & Computer Skill TestThe Computer Skill Test will be of Qualifying in nature and Qualifying marks in test shall be 50% for Unreserved and 40% for reserved category candidates, subject to reservation of posts in respective Region.
Empanelment of CandidatesThose who pass the CST will be appointed in order of merit based on their written test scores. Subject to passing the computer skill test, which is qualifying in nature and has no weight in the final merit, the candidates’ final merit for selection will be determined based on their scores in the written test and computer-based test (100% weightage). Candidates who meet the qualifying requirements will be shortlisted for empanelment according to the number of openings in each category, category by category.
Offer of Appointment & Pre- employment Medical ExaminationThe Offer of Appointment will be extended to the qualified applicants in accordance with the requirement and according to the order of merit. The pre-employment medical examination will be undertaken in accordance with POWERGRID Norms and Standards of Medical Fitness, and the appointment of the chosen applicants will be contingent upon their being deemed to be medically fit.
